The objective of this initiative is:
- To develop eco-friendly sustainable aquaculture systems.
- To maximize the profits of farmers by preventing disease outbreaks, water seepage, quick turn-around time between two crops, etc.
- To build up systems providing an equitable cost/ benefit ratio to support economic and social sustainability.
Scheme Outlay & Subsidy:
- The total outlay under the said program is ₹ 3.90,00,00,000
- The Unit cost for the installation of a polylining unit is ₹ 2.10,00,000 with 40% subsidy assistance to the General and 60% assistance to SC/ ST/ woman beneficiaries. Subsidy support is only infrastructure costs and doesn’t include any operational costs.

- All brackish water shrimp farmers and hatchery operators are eligible to avail the assistance under this scheme.
- The eligible brackish water shrimp farms/ nursery and seed tanks/ hatchery beneficiaries must have concerned license from Coastal Aquaculture Authority.
- The Support will be in the form of back-ended assistance for the installation of Polyliners to the tanks with central drain systems and aeration units.
- The assistance will be available to the above category of beneficiaries for a minimum of 0.1 Ha (1000 m2) and a maximum of 0.4 Ha. (4000 m2) per beneficiary.
