The “Gatidhara Scheme” is a scheme of the Government of West Bengal administered by the Transport Department for employment of registered unemployed youth of the State in the transport sector.

The objective of the scheme is to generate self-employment in the Urban and Rural areas of the state through the promotion of transport services.

The scheme was launched in August 2014.

West Bengal Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (WBTIDCL) is the implementing agency of the scheme.

Under this scheme, the beneficiary will receive a grant subsidy for purchasing of any commercial vehicle.

The rate of subsidy is 30% of the ex-showroom price of the vehicle subject to a maximum of ₹1 lakh.

The age of the applicant should be between 25 to 45 years. (Relaxation 5 years for SC/ST & 3 years for OBC)

The family income should not be more than ₹25,000/- per month.

Only one member of the same family is eligible for subsidy.
