- To acknowledge, recognize and reward the extraordinary exemplary, and innovative work done by the officers of the State Govt. of Assam.
- There would be a total of 10 (ten) awards and shall consist of a "Citation".
- The award will be given every year.

- Officers of State Government individually or as a group will be eligible for the award. Not more than 4 (four) officials (maximum) including the applicant will be allowed in a group.

What is the scope of this award?
The KARMASHREE- The Chief Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration to acknowledge, recognize and reward the extraordinary, exemplary, and innovative work done by the officers of the Districts/ Organizations of the State Government.
In which category this award will be given?
The Award will be given for Innovation in Public Administration and outstanding implementation of Govt. schemes, policies, and programmes.
How many awards will be given under the KARMASHREE?
There will be a total of 10 awards and shall consist of a Citation.
Will this award be given every year?
Yes, the award will be given every year.
What are the selection criteria for the award?
Selection for the award will be on the basis of the following criteria: (a) Innovativeness (b) Sustainability (c) Up scalability (d) Impact on overall service delivery system (e) Improvement in efficiency and effectiveness in administration or governance (f) Social, economic or other benefits from the initiative (g) Improved transparency and objectivity in the process
Will this award be given to the individual officer or a group of officers?
The officers of the State Government individually or as a group will be eligible for the award.
What is the maximum number of officers allowed in a group?
Not more than 4 (four) officials (maximum) including the applicant will be allowed in a group.
How many committees are constituted for the selection of an awardee?
There are three committees constituted for the selection of an awardee namely Screening Committee, Expert Committee & State Level Committee.
Who is the final approving authority for selecting the awardee?
Approval of the Honourable Chief Minister, Assam for final selection of Awards.
How can I apply for the award?
Application may be submitted online with the recommendations of the competent authority.
Who is the competent authority to recommend the applications for the officers working in the districts?
Deputy Commissioner will be the competent authority to recommend the applications for the officers working in the districts.
Who is the competent authority to recommend the applications for the officers working in the Directorate, Commissionerate, or Secretariat?
The Director, the Commissioner, and the Sr. most Secretary of the concerned department may recommend the application for the award.
How can I submit my achievements for the award?
A brief write-up of 5 pages (A4 size) on the scheme. The write-up should contain details of the initiative/programme/strategies adopted in implementation/period of implementation/exceptional achievements and outcomes/ positive impact and sustainability.
Is any video film of innovative work required for the award?
Yes, a CD of a short film of 3-5 minutes duration highlighting the initiative/innovation may also be submitted.
