Any construction worker whose age is between 18 to 60 years and has worked in Punjab State in any construction work for a minimum of 90 days in a year, are eligible to register as a beneficiary under the Board.

Yes, the building worker must have completed 90 days of service as a building worker in the preceding 12 months.

Any registered worker of the Board can apply for the welfare scheme.

A worker at a time can get himself registered for a minimum period of 1 year & maximum period of 5 years.

Yes, the application for registration must be made in Form No. 28.

The rate of registration fee is ₹25/- at the time of registration. It is a one time fee.

A registered worker is required to contribute ₹10/-per month as contribution fee to the Board.

Husband or wife, minor sons (including major sons who are insane or physically handicapped and unable to earn), unmarried daughters and the parents of the building worker, who are solely dependent on the registered worker.

Applicants must be registered members of the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of Punjab, must be regularly paying contributions, must have completed training under the “Skill Upgradation” or “Recognition of Prior Learning” schemes, and must purchase tools relevant to their profession.

The scheme offers financial assistance of up to ₹5,000/- for the purchase of professional tools.

A construction worker can benefit from the “Tool Kit Scheme" once every three(3) years.

The financial benefit is provided as a reimbursement after the beneficiary has purchased the tools.

For the application of the concerned welfare schemes of the Board, the construction worker has to visit the nearest Sewa Kendras or contact the Assistant Labour Commissioner/ Labour-cum-Conciliation Officer/ Labour Inspector/ Labour Enforcement Officer of the concerned area.
