1. To carry out experimental plantation of tea for the possibility of finding ways to grow tea economically and in a commercial scale as well. 2. Raising seedlings in the experimental station for distribution to farmers. 3. Encouraging Organic Certification on a cluster-based approach. 4. Training and capacity building to Tea growers.

Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya has launched this scheme.

Providing tea seedlings, bio-pesticides, bio-fungicides, plant protection equipment, brush cutters, harvesters’ etc. One-time financial assistance @ ₹10,000/- per hectare and training and capacity building are also provided to the Tea growers.

(i) Sale @ ₹1/- per seedling (ii) One-time financial assistance @ ₹10,000/- per hectare. (iii)50% subsidy on bio-fertilizers bio-pesticides, bio-fungicides, plant protection equipment, brush cutters, harvesters, etc.

The bonafide farmers engaged in agriculture, possessing own or leased land of not exceeding 2 Ha/family can apply under the scheme.

Bonafide farmers can apply in plain paper along with supported land documents through the nearest Horticulture Development Officer of a CD Block/ Horticulture Circle.

Bonafide farmers on first come first serve basis.
