The Silicosis Affected Workers Welfare Scheme is an initiative launched by the Government of Rajasthan to provide financial assistance to workers suffering from silicosis and their families.

Permanent scarring on the lungs caused by inhaling silica (quart) dust is called silicosis. People have difficulty breathing during exercise, which sometimes turns into shortness of breath even at rest.

In case of death of a victim of silicosis will get the ₹3,00,000/-

In case of suffering from silicosis ₹1,00,000/-

1. Copy of beneficiary identity card/booklet. 2. Certificate regarding silicosis from Pneumoconiosis Medical Board. 3. Bank account details

The beneficiary cannot receive silicosis assistance amount from the Rajasthan Environment and Health Care Fund (Rehab).

Yes, the scheme is currently limited to Rajasthan. Similar schemes, with varied objectives and components, may be implemented in other states.
