Any woman or man above 60 years of age who belongs to BPL family or whose annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs.12000/- and land in rural area does not exceed two and a half acres, old age pension can be approved.

Income certificate is issued by Tehsildar of concerned Tehsil.

Right to accept old age pension In rural areas, the eligible person is selected in the open meeting of the Gram Panchayat and in urban areas, the Sub-Divisional Officer of the concerned Tehsil has the right to accept the pension

The amount of old age pension is paid every 3 months.

Only husband and wife of BPL family can be sanctioned old age pension. In case of acceptance of pension on the basis of income certificate, only one of the husband or wife can be sanctioned pension, on this also priority will be given to the female candidate.

Those whose sons or grandsons are 20 years of age or more, but they are living below the poverty line, can be given old age pension.

Pension to new beneficiaries is approved only twice in a year, in January and July respectively, i.e., applications received from the month of January to June are accepted from the month of July and those received from July to December are accepted from the month of January

There is no need for income certificate for pension approval for BPL number holders
