Benefits
- The course curriculum for Kushal Yuva Program would include three components: Life skills, Communications Skills (English & Hindi), and Basic computer literacy. The course duration covering all three components would be 240 hours (Life Skills for 40 hours, Communication Skills for 80 hours and Basic computer literacy component would be covered in approx. 120 hours).
- E-Learning mode shall be used for training delivery.
- Assessment (post self-learning and mock tests) of Trainers (Oncet) followed by certification will be carried out to get quality trainers and maintain uniformity across centers. It would be the prime responsibility of the Skill Development Centre (SDC) to ensure that each trainer deployed by it undergoes the OnCET test. Only the certified trainers passing the assessment will be eligible for imparting training.
- It is preferable to have a trainer who has passed the KYP Course and is having educational qualification of a minimum 12th pass unless he has a higher Degree / Diploma in Computer Science.
- A sequential mode of learning is provided for prohibiting any skipping of sessions.
- Central monitoring of step by step progress of each candidate through the web portal.
- Inbuilt / Integrated online Assessment & Certification process.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of the state of Bihar.
- The applicant must be in the age group of 15-28 years (Relaxation:- SC/ST: 33 years; OBC: 31 years: PwD: 33 years).
- The applicant must have passed Class 10th (irrespective of the fact that the candidate is pursuing /completed any Higher Education Course/Degree).
- Apart from the above all those youth of 20-25 age group who have opted for and have been sanctioned for self-help allowance, have to compulsorily complete this training.

What Is Kushal Yuva Program?
Kushal Yuva Programme (KYP) is a part of one of the "7 commitments" namely "Aarthik Hal, Yuvaon ko Bal". This has been launched as a flagship programme of Bihar Skill Development Mission. Through this programme, BSDM intends to enhance the employability of the youth of Bihar.
Who Are The Intended Trainees / Beneficiaries For Kushal Yuva Program (KYP)?
The Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) is targeted at all aspirants in the age group of 15-28 years (Age limit for SC/ST, OBC & People with Disabilities is as follows: SC/ST - 33 years, OBC - 31 years, PwD - 33 years), who have passed 10th Class irrespective of their having attained higher education or their currently pursuing higher education.
How Will The Trainees / Beneficiaries Be Registered For KYP?
The trainees will be registered through: Candidates will get themselves registered online on 7 nishachay portal through respective SDC’s where they want to take admissions or from any other place. After registration on 7 nishachay portal then candidate will go to the district registration cum counseling centers (DRCC) setup in each district. DRCC will verify their documents and after getting approval, the candidate can take admission in respective/any SDC.
What Are SDCs For KYP And How Can Interested Organizations Apply?
Skill Development Centres (SDCs) for KYP: SDCs are Skill Development Centers for the Kushal Yuva Program who have requisite infrastructure and shall empanel with BSDM to offer eLearning to the youth under KYP for the above courses, train and certify them.
When Is The Last Date Of Application For Registering As An SDC?
12 Aug is the last date for the registration as SDC. The subsequent rounds of registration shall be opened as and when the need of additional centre arises. The information shall be made available through the website and other medium.
Is There Any Fee For Registration As SDC?
At the time of application, the AO has to deposit INR 500 per centre as processing fee, INR 3000 per centre as centre registration fee and INR 1000 as course affiliation fee for Kushal Yuva Programme.
When Is The Training Under KYP Envisaged To Commence?
Training under Kushal Yuva Programme is envisaged to commence from 15th November, 2016.
What Is The Total Training Fee That SDCs Will Get For Implementing The KYP And What Are The Payment Terms (Milestones)?
Calculation of Total Training Fee per candidate (Tentative) for the KYP: Training Fee: INR 32.40/- per candidate per hour Total Duration: 240 hours Release of Training Fee (Tentative) for the Kushal Yuva Programme: 30% of the training fee - On completion of 1/3rd of the duration of the course or 1 month whichever is later, for all the candidates with attendance equal to 1/3rd of the duration of the course. 30% of the training fee - On completion of 2/3rd of the duration of the course or 2 months whichever is later, for all the candidates with attendance equal to 2/3rd of the duration of the course. 40% of the training fee - Post final assessment and certification for all the passed and certified candidates.
What Is The Placement Linkage For Kushal Yuva Programme?
There is no placement linkage in this programme. The SDC operators do not have to provide placement to the trained candidates. However, the SDC may explore linking the certified candidates to jobs as it shall increase the popularity of that SDC and will help in mobilizing more candidates.
Can The SDCs Registered For KYP Run Other Courses Under Domain Skilling Also?
The SDCs registered for KYP shall primarily run KYP course only. If they have extra space and infrastructure for other courses in the same premises, they can also independently get registered as SDC for domain skilling courses.
Will Those Applicants Get A Chance Again, Who Got Initial Registration But Could Not Deposit Money Or Those Who Deposited The Registration Fee By Due Date But Could Not Complete The Next Steps In Time?
No such applicants have to apply again when the next round of registration open.
