Details
Objective
- To allow young academic talent to be associated with UIDAI’s work for mutual benefit.
- The “Interns” shall have an opportunity to know about the UIDAI functioning. It will enable UIDAI to interact with young scholars and to get fresh ideas and study/research support from the field of academics. At the same time, it will provide an opportunity to young scholars to contribute in the UIDAI work and have an insight into the related technical domains, management fields or related legal aspects.

Logistic Support
- The basic lodging facilities can be made available on a payment basis in UIDAI Technology Centre, only.
- The intern may be given access to the office internet, which shall be at the sole discretion of the supervising officer and subject to compliance with the Information Security Policy of UIDAI.

Application Process
Documents Required
For Internship -
- Original NOC from the Head of the Department/Principal, indicating that the student would not be registered for any course requiring his/her attendance in the class during the period of internship.
Additional Documents Required in the Case of Fellowship -
- The recommendation letter must be from the PhD supervisor.
- The application needs to be sponsored /forwarded by the Institution where the applicant is currently enrolled, in the prescribed format.
At the Completion of the Internship -
- A soft copy and hard copy of the project report on the work undertaken.
- A “No Demand Certificate” in the prescribed format.

What Is The Duration Of The UIDAI Internship Scheme?
The duration of the UIDAI internship scheme is a minimum of two months and a maximum of six months
Is There Any Application Fee For The UIDAI Internship Scheme?
No, there is no application fee for the UIDAI internship scheme
Is There Any Reimbursement For Attending The Personal Interview?
No, no reimbursement for travel or daily allowance will be provided for attending the personal interview.
How Are Interns Selected For The UIDAI Internship?
The selection is made based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee constituted by the concerned authority within UIDAI. Personal or virtual interviews may be conducted if necessary.
When Should Candidates Apply For A One-Year Internship?
Candidates applying for a one-year internship should apply within six months from the completion of the final exam, as mentioned in the guidelines.
How Can Interested Students Apply For The UIDAI Internship?
Interested and eligible students need to apply online through the UIDAI website when the application facility is available. Until then, they can apply to UIDAI Regional Offices/Technology Centre/Divisions of Headquarters in the prescribed form.
Will Interns Receive An Experience Certificate?
Yes, UIDAI will issue a certificate for the internship period upon completion of assigned work and with the recommendation of the reporting officer.
Will Interns Have Access To Office Internet?
Interns may be given access to the office internet at the discretion of the supervising officer and subject to compliance with the Information Security Policy of UIDAI.
Will Interns Be Provided With A Computer System Or Laptop?
No, interns need to bring their own laptop for carrying out the assigned work during the internship.
Will Interns Receive A Stipend?
Yes, interns will receive a stipend based on their field of study. Stipend amounts vary for technical, professional, and non-technical fields and can be higher for those working on premises compared to remote locations.
Is There A Report Submission Requirement For Interns?
Yes, interns are required to submit a report on the work undertaken during the internship. The project report should be identical to the one prepared for the sponsoring institution.
What Documents Are Required For The UIDAI Internship Application?
The application needs to be sponsored/forwarded by the current institution of the applicant. A recommendation letter from the PhD supervisor is required for PhD candidates.
Is The Internship A Guarantee Of A Job With UIDAI?
No, the internship is neither a job nor an assurance of a job with UIDAI. However, interns may receive weightage during campus hiring if certain conditions are met.
Where Will The Interns Work During The Internship?
Interns will work at the UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru, or regional offices of UIDAI, UIDAI Headquarters, or assigned remote locations under the guidance of a project supervisor.
Can Recent Graduates Apply For The UIDAI Internship?
Yes, students who have recently completed their graduation/PG and are waiting for admission to higher studies or a job can be considered for the internship if they fulfill certain conditions, including securing 60% or more cumulative marks in all years/semesters of their graduation/PG.
