Details
Objective
- To engage persons pursuing law [in the last two years of degree course] or Law Graduates or students pursing Post Graduation in Law or Research Scholars in Law or pursuing post-graduation courses like MBA/MSW/MSc/MA and are enrolled in recognized University/Institution within India or abroad as ‘Interns” with EPFO that shall be mutually beneficial for the individual as well as for EPFO.
- The “Interns” shall have an opportunity to know about the EPFO functioning and Department Policy issues in EPFO and Government of India and contribute to the Policy/Legislation formulation by generating policy inputs such as empirical analysis, briefing reports, policy papers, etc.
- However, the internship is neither a job nor any such assurance for a job in the EPFO.

Who Can Apply For The EPFO Internship Scheme?
Students pursuing law in the last two years of their degree course, law graduates, students pursuing post-graduation in law, research scholars in law, and students pursuing post-graduation courses like MBA/MSW/MSc/MA from recognized universities or institutions within India or abroad are eligible to apply.
What Is The Objective Of The EPFO Internship Scheme?
The objective is to provide an opportunity for interns to learn about the EPFO's functioning, departmental policy issues, and contribute to policy/legislation formulation through empirical analysis, briefing reports, policy papers, etc. However, the internship does not guarantee a job in the EPFO.
What Is The Duration Of The Internship?
The internship can range from a minimum period of 2 months to a maximum period of 6 months.
Will Interns Receive A Stipend?
Yes, selected interns will be paid a stipend of ₹8,000 per month for the duration of the internship, upon certification from the officer they are attached to.
How Can Applicants Apply For The EPFO Internship Scheme?
Applicants must submit the prescribed application form via email to rc.hrm@epfindia.gov.in. Soft copies of mark sheets, certificates, and other documentary proofs do not need to be sent with the application.
Is There Any Eligibility Criterion Regarding Age?
The guidelines do not mention any specific age limit for applicants.
Is There A Secrecy Requirement For Interns?
Yes, interns are required to furnish a declaration of secrecy to the EPFO before reporting for the internship.
What Logistics Support Will Be Provided To Interns?
EPFO will provide interns with working space, a computer with internet facility, and other necessities as deemed fit by the concerned divisional head.
How Many Interns Will Be Engaged?
The engagement of interns, up to a maximum of 10, will be carried out with the approval of the Central Provident Fund Commissioner. The placement will be decided by the Commissioner based on suitability and requirement in the concerned division.
What Is The Requirement For Submission Of A Paper By Interns?
Interns will be required to present a report/paper on the assigned subject to the head of the division at the end of the internship.
Will Interns Receive A Certificate Upon Completion Of The Internship?
Yes, interns will receive a certificate on satisfactory completion of the internship and submission of their report/paper, evaluated by the concerned head of the division.
What Documents Are Required During The Selection Process?
During the selection process, applicants will need to provide a copy of documentary proofs of identity (such as passport, Aadhar Card, etc.), curriculum vitae, and self-attested certificates/mark sheets/transcripts for all the mentioned accomplishments.
Is A Letter Of Recommendation Required For The Application?
Yes, a letter of recommendation from the head of the institution where the applicant is studying is required on the official stationery of the institution.
Is A No Objection Certificate Required For Ongoing Courses?
Yes, a no objection certificate from the university/institution is required if the internship is to be pursued in parallel with an ongoing course.
What Is The Mode Of Application Submission?
The application must be submitted via email to rc.hrm@epfindia.gov.in.
Are There Specific Requirements For The Letter Of Recommendation?
The letter of recommendation should include particulars of the applicant, such as the course being pursued, enrollment/roll number, batch/year of the course, and the duration of internship required. It should also briefly indicate the personal characteristics and suitability for pursuing the internship in EPFO.
What Support Will Be Provided To Interns During The Internship?
Interns will be provided with working space, a computer with internet facility, and other necessary support as deemed fit by the concerned divisional head.
Where Will The Interns Be Placed During The Internship?
Interns will be attached to an officer in a division/department/wing of the EPFO, as decided by the Central Provident Fund Commissioner.
