Details

A non-contributory pension scheme for Below Poverty Line citizens above 60 years, who has little or no regular means of subsistence from his / her own source of income or through financial support from family members or other sources.

NoteThe scheme does not include BPL Widows and BPL Persons with severe and multiple disabilities in the age group 60-79 will be covered under IGNDPS and IGNWPS respectively

Benefits

A pension of Rs.200/- per month is provided to persons between 60 years and 79 years. For persons who are 80 years and above the pension is Rs.500/- per month.

Eligibility

The following criteria should be met to obtain Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension.
﻿
The age of the applicant should be 60 years or higher. (It is applicable for both male & female).
Applicant must belong to household living below poverty line according to the criteria prescribed by the Government.
Applicant must be destitute and having no regular source of financial support form family members or any other sources is eligible for old age pension.
BPL widows and BPL persons with severe and multiple disabilities in the age group of 60 -79 years are not eligible for this scheme.

One can download UMANG App or visit website https://web.umang.gov.in/web_new/home 
The citizen can login using mobile number and OTP.
Once logged In, citizen can search for NSAP.
Click on “Apply Online”
Select IGNOAPS
Fill the basic details, choose the mode of payment of pension, upload photo and click on “Submit”.

Bank Pass Book
For age Proof - The birth certificate or school certificate may be submitted. In their absence ration card and EPIC may be considered. If there is no valid document, any Medical Officer of any government hospital may be authorized to issue the age certificate.
